The Grant Hotel

The location was very convenient, we could walk to union square and china town. My wife and adult son stayed here and we liked it, especially the free pastries every morning. We had full stomach when we left in the morning we could go to our tours right away! Coffee and tea were available 24 hours! This place is old but we didn’t mind, considering the fair price of stay.

Location is great 5/5 The reception serves tea, hot water and coffee 24*7. There is an ice machine and water dispenser. Rooms are decent and have old house vibe. The mattresses are not cushiony rather old. But it a budget hotel The room walls are thin and you can hear everything from the other side. It is accessible to most public transportation and the street is clean too. Overall, if you are planning to roam around the city and just use to the hotel to crash, this place would be a good fit

I loved the oldness of the building, the elevator is small and slow, but it has that old-school cool sound. The rooms are adequate if you're only looking for a place to sleep. They do have an ice/ water machine in the lobby and provide pastries and coffee for breakfast 8-10. The bed wasn't as comfortable as I was expecting, but clean and bug-free! I would stay here again and recommend them to everyone for a no-frills stay. I only have 4 stars because of the mattress otherwise it was a great stay. Friendly staff!

This hotel is close to various transportations and restaurants. Special note on the pastries that were offered every morning (with coffee), they were delicious and much appreciated! The room itself is very average and old, but extremely clean, mine had a view on a wall, another one on a parking. Pretty quiet, although the corridor light was pretty visible in my room at night, and I could hear people closing their doors. You have to put on the "no disturb" sign if you don't want staff replacing your towels everyday. Would stay again!

Great service and 24/7 staff, plus the location near Union Square is super convenient. The room was clean, and the price was reasonable. However, there’s a downside—the noise. You can hear people shouting in other rooms and footsteps from the floors above. Still, a decent option for the price!

After a horrible issue with a previous hotel that my party had to end up canceling the booking for, we were able to get a room last minute at Grant’s. It was such a relief to find a lovely place for a good price. Room was clean and comfy, the staff was very kind and patient, and even after checking out we were able to check out luggage while we explored a bit more in town. Would 100% stay here again for atmosphere, the lovely staff, and the location.

Absolutely adorable and such a good quiet safe place to stay. The pastries in the coffee were amazing and it's close to everything. No matter where you want to go or what you want to see you're right smack in the middle of all of it.. 10 out of 10 would recommend

This is THE spot for those coming from out of state or with a car. Listen to me. There is not a better value for SAFELY parking your car overnight in the city. Valet is $35 for 24 hours and my car was completely safe! Staff here is wonderful!!! If you are staying for one night, you can leave your bags at the front after you check out. The attendant will lock your items with a secure bike lock and give you a ticket to come pick it up later. This gave me a lot of time to go wander the city while my car sat safely in the adjacent parking garage. The room itself was clean, though I will say it was a bit strange to have two twin beds pushed together to form a franken-queen sized bed. This is the BEST VALUE room in San Francisco. Location is PRIME for those who want to get the most out of the city. Just a few blocks from Chinatown and little Italy. I had zero trouble going to all the places I wanted to see on foot. Never once did I feel unsafe here.
